Anugrah Mandiri
A bilingual website for an embroidery workshop in Bandung: its own photographs, edited; its name drawn as satin stitch; enquiries on WhatsApp.
The problem. An embroidery workshop in business since 2005 had no website of its own. The site had to show the work, explain how a design becomes stitch data, and state nothing that cannot be checked.

Problem
Anugrah Mandiri Embroidery is an embroidery workshop at Jl. Setra Murni No. 8 in Bandung, established on 6 December 2005. It embroiders logos, uniforms, fashion, merchandise and one-off pieces on the customer’s own fabric. It also does punching: turning a design into the stitch data an embroidery machine runs, for garment makers and embroidery houses with their own machines, in Indonesia and abroad.
In September 2026 the workshop had no website, and a search for its name found no Business Profile and no Instagram account. The site had to start from what the owner could state: a name, an address, a date and the work.
Thinking
Only what the workshop can state. Every fact on the site comes from the owner: the name, the founding date, the address, the numbers. The about page lists exactly those, under the heading “Yang bisa kami sebutkan” (what we can state). Where a fact was missing, it stayed missing: there is no client list, no machine count and no capacity figure.
Indonesian first. The copy was written in Indonesian, and the English version was adapted from it rather than translated line by line.
Thread as the visual language. On a first visit the home page opens with a short sequence: a thread tenses, a needle plunges, a first stitch settles, and the stitches multiply into the workshop’s name. The name in the bar is drawn as satin stitch: digitized from the site’s own typeface and rendered as thread, at the exact size it is shown.
The workshop’s own pictures. Every photograph on the site is the workshop’s own picture of its work, sent from a phone over WhatsApp. Each was corrected before use: white balance and exposure set from the plaster wall in the photograph itself, then contrast and a crop for its place on the page. The correction is a written recipe per picture, so it can be repeated. Captions say only what the picture shows.
One way to start. The main button on every page opens WhatsApp with a greeting already written. The services page has no rate card. It names what decides the price: the size of the design, the stitch count, the quantity and the fabric.
Surface
Two cloths alternate down the page: near-black with a champagne thread, and ivory. Burgundy appears once, for the closing call. Headings are set in a light serif and the text in a grotesque. The home page leads with “Setiap jahitan memiliki arti.” (every stitch has a meaning), above a thread that becomes a running stitch and ends in a knot. The English home page says “Where thread becomes identity.”
- Services. Six rows on the services page. On a desk, pointing at a row or reaching it with the keyboard shows its picture beside the list; on a phone, a tap opens it beneath the row.
- Karya kami. Five pieces, each opening in a viewer with a caption that says what it is: a signature logo, tone on tone with its cloth; Japanese lettering on a coarse weave; pink thread on a floral print; tone-on-tone embroidery on white fur; and あいしてる, “I love you”, in two colours of thread.
- Process. Seven steps, from the first conversation to the finished order.
- Punching. As the visitor scrolls, a design becomes stitch data in five stages: artwork, paths, stitch direction, density and stitch.
- The call. “Ada kebutuhan bordir?” (something to embroider?), with WhatsApp first and email second.
Structure
A static site built with Astro: fourteen HTML pages, its own CSS, small scripts and no framework running in the browser.
Two languages
Indonesian lives under /id and English under /en. The bare address always opens the
Indonesian home page, whatever the browser’s language. Every page names its other version with
hreflang, plus an x-default, and the sitemap lists all fourteen.
Local business data
Every page carries LocalBusiness structured data: the name, the founding date, the address in Bandung, and two contact points, the WhatsApp number and the office line.
Contact that stores nothing
There is no database and no analytics. The contact form writes the message and opens the visitor’s own WhatsApp or email; nothing is sent to the site. On the home page’s first load, none of the requests goes to another site.
A skippable opening
The opening is drawn on a canvas and plays once per visit, and its Skip button has the focus from the start. For a visitor whose device asks for reduced motion it is a short fade, with no thread and no needle.
The record
Anugrah Mandiri Embroidery has a fourteen-page website at anugrahembroidery.com, in Indonesian and English. It went live on a preview address on 22 September 2026; the name was redrawn as satin stitch on 27 September, the site moved to its own domain on 3 October, and on 11 October the workshop’s new photographs replaced every picture on it. The figures below are lab readings we took ourselves, not figures from its visitors.
Every figure with the date and the instrument that produced it. Where there is no figure, the record says why.

Search presence
This project in the four outcomes of Search Presence Engineering: what was built for each, and what was measured. Every figure is one of the results below, with its date and instrument.
- Found Technical foundation Can the page be found and read?
-
Fourteen static pages, seven in each language, each naming its other version with hreflang; a sitemap; one address that www, plain http and the old preview address all redirect to; nothing loaded from another site.
- Addresses in the sitemap: 14 . A plain request for the sitemap with curl, counted by us: seven in Indonesian and seven in English.
- Search visibility: Not measured. No Search Console data has been recorded for this domain.
- Understood Relevance Does it answer the customer’s question?
-
Written in Indonesian first, with an English version adapted rather than translated: the six services in plain words, a seven-step process from the first conversation to the finished order, and a page that shows a design becoming stitch data.
- Trusted Authority Can the business and its claims be verified?
-
Only what the workshop can state: its name, its founding date (6 December 2005) and its address, also given as LocalBusiness data with its WhatsApp and office numbers, and five pieces of its own work in its own photographs.
- Chosen The next step Is there a clear way to act, wherever they start?
-
The main button on every page opens WhatsApp with a greeting already written, and the closing call offers WhatsApp first and email second. The services page names what decides the price: the size of the design, the stitch count, the quantity and the fabric.
- Enquiries: Not measured. Enquiries arrive in the workshop's own WhatsApp and email; the site loads no analytics and stores nothing. TULUS has not counted them.
Measured
The home page's first load on a desk and a phone, axe-core on all fourteen pages, and the sitemap, all read on 11 October 2026.
| What | Result | When and how |
|---|---|---|
| First load of the home page, desk | 11 requests · 356 kB | . Headless Chromium with an empty cache at 1440 × 900, bytes on the wire, measured by us from Bandung. A first visit, so the opening plays and is counted. |
| First load of the home page, phone | 11 requests · 341 kB | . The same instrument at 390 × 844. |
| Third-party requests, home page | 0 | . The same loads: none of the requests goes to another site. |
| Automated accessibility check | 0 violations · 14 pages | . axe-core 4.13 (WCAG 2.0 to 2.2, A and AA, and its best practices) in headless Chromium: all fourteen pages at 1440 and 390 px, 28 audits. It finds only part of what a person would. |
| Addresses in the sitemap | 14 | . A plain request for the sitemap with curl, counted by us: seven in Indonesian and seven in English. |
Not measured
| What | Result | When and how |
|---|---|---|
| Speed for real visitors | Not measured. | There is no field data for the site yet. |
| Search visibility | Not measured. | No Search Console data has been recorded for this domain. |
| Enquiries | Not measured. | Enquiries arrive in the workshop's own WhatsApp and email; the site loads no analytics and stores nothing. TULUS has not counted them. |
What improved
What the workshop has now that it did not have in September: a website of its own in Indonesian and English, with WhatsApp on every page and five pieces of its work. TULUS has not measured whether enquiries rose.
